Join optional activities during the week to discover Dublin, meet classmates and make international friends.
Use English outside the classroom with other English speakers in natural settings.

The social programme changes through the year, but December usually includes a mix of weekly language-focused sessions plus seasonal socials. All activities are optional and shared with you during induction and via the Student Experience team.
Welcome walk (for new arrivals) โ get your bearings and discover key places near the College.
Ideal at the start of your course (and a great way to meet people from other classes).
City & culture activity โ for example a museum/gallery visit or a guided walking tour.
In December, a walking tour often runs on the last Tuesday of the month (when available).
Social event โ Movie Club or another informal activity after class.
Movie Club typically runs mid-month; December may also include seasonal events (e.g., Christmas Jumper Competition).
Study Support (optional) โ book a short slot with a teacher for help with language questions.
Usually available AM/PM with 30-minute slots (subject to timetables).
Conversation Club โ small-group speaking practice with an experienced teacher (topic-based).

Join our Conversation Club to practise English in a relaxed, social setting. You and other students meet with one of our experienced teachers to talk about a chosen topic for the session.
Conversation Club sessions are organised by the Academic Team and take place every Friday.
Dorset College has a range of activities across the campus. Many are designed for higher education students, but English language learners may be able to join or set up informal groups depending on interest and availability.
If you would like to join or start a group, please speak to the Student Experience team. All groups are arranged subject to student interest and timetable space.
