Every learner is different. We start by placing you on the Trinity ISE pathway by default, and then help you decide whether to stay on that route or switch to Cambridge or IELTS as your goals become clearer.
You do not have to decide everything on day one. We use your level, progress and goals to help you make an informed choice.
Many learners stay on the Trinity ISE route and sit the exam on site at Dorset College. Others choose Cambridge or IELTS for specific academic or migration purposes โ we support all three choices.
ISE Foundation, I, II, III โ integrated skills exams aligned to A2, B1, B2 and C1.
B2 First (FCE) and C1 Advanced (CAE) โ widely recognised by universities and employers.
IELTS Academic (and other IELTS routes) โ used by universities and immigration authorities worldwide.

Your teacher and the Academic Team will advise on the most appropriate exam for your level, timeframe and future plans. You can move from the default Trinity pathway to Cambridge or IELTS if this better suits your goals.

Yes. Many learners stay with Trinity ISE, but if your goals change โ for example, you decide to apply for a degree programme abroad โ we can help you move to a Cambridge or IELTS route and adjust your preparation.
Trinity ISE exams are taken on site at Dorset. Cambridge and IELTS exams are sat at authorised external test centres, but we support you with exam preparation and planning.
Requirements vary by institution. IELTS and Cambridge are often preferred for degree entry outside Ireland. Trinity ISE is also accepted by some institutions. We can help you match your exam to the requirements of the university or country you are interested in.
